Happy Father's Day!

First of all, let me apologize for not paying tribute to my mom, Judy and grandmas on mother's day—I was busy sleeping in and having breakfast made for me, and then of course church and a great dinner made by Ralph. Hopefully, they know that I love and appreciate them.

I'm feeling pretty blessed today as I think about the great dads and grandpas in my life:

I was born to the best dad,

AND I married the best dad,

who also has the best dad.

We are also lucky to have the best grandpas still around.

Aren't dads and granpas great! They are loving and care so much about their families. Happy Fathers Day! The women should be appretiated also buy we have our own special day, of course I think everyday would be nice for fathers and mothers.; July 22, 2008 at 1:57 PM

here's the story:

I was interviewed for a newpaper article about kids and sleep, and quoted as saying something like "when I'm tired, I feel like supervising from the couch." Ever since, it's been our catch phrase for slacker parenting. Ironically, I only had one child at the time and we were practically attached at the hip. Now that I have four older kids, they spend chunks of time playing without even the benefit of me watching from the couch. However, I do try to come running if it sounds like there might be blood. Somehow they have all thrived in spite of me.
