After an activity packed months in Paris and London, and non-stop touring the first half of June, we were ready for a slower pace. We rented a cottage in a remote area near Preston, and it was perfect for some down time. We arrived the evening of Monday, June 16th and spent a week here.
On Tuesday Robbie had an appointment at 11:00 a.m. with a podiatrist, to fix his ingrown toenails. Why didn't I take photos?! ;) Then we went shopping for shorts and groceries and came home to have dinner. After that, Ainsley and I took a walk at sunset (almost 10:00 p.m. this far north) and the countryside was spectacular.
We stayed in the smaller of these two cottages, because we only needed to sleep six, but it would be an awesome place for an extended family visit, because there are multiple cottages.
The girls loved the playground and tennis courts.
After putting the youngest three kids in bed, we stayed up to watch the US v. Ghana world cup game (a 2-1 win, yay!), which started at 11:00 p.m. our time.
After that late night I proposed a rare day off...we didn't go anywhere or do anything. Awesome.
Finally, a few photos from the day we left (all cleaned up). Loved our stay here.
