I decided to serve our traditional Easter dinner on Friday, so that we could eat the leftovers on Saturday and Sunday and I wouldn't have to make anything more elaborate than a sandwich or bowl of cereal for the rest of the weekend.

It was also a pared-down version of our typical Easter meal—only ham, au gratins and garlic beans, no rolls or dessert. I figured the Easter Bunny would be hopping into town that night to leave more than enough sugar.

Here's Ellie, trying her requisite bite of everything so she could have a bowl of Life instead.
