Barcelona to Bordeaux

Sunday morning we got up early and went to church in Badelona (a suburb of Barcelona), where we surprised the daughter of our stake president and her companion with a missionary care package with treats, pampering items and whatever American things we could find at Carrefour, like peanut butter and Oreos.

After church we spent most of the day driving north, headed for Bordeaux, on route to the Loire Valley. For the fourth time, we passed by this Catalan monument:

We stopped at a rest stop with a beautiful view of Carcassonne:

A nice French family offered to take a family photo—it's one of my favorites:

We had a delicious dinner in Bordeaux, where they are almost as famous for cuisine as for wine.

And then we walked around the city in the rain. It was almost deserted and very beautiful.
