I love portraits

My favorite pictures are almost always close-up portrait shots. And it's been awhile since I've taken any good ones, so after church I dragged my kids outside and told them they wouldn't get dinner unless I got a good photo.
I should have taken these before church—the girls' hair would have been less messy, but there was no time, and this is what they look like most of the time anyway.
I cut the boys' hair last night. Rob took them to Great Clips on Thursday night, but the wait was too long.
So they're stuck with amateur cuts until it grows back out, which won't take long.
Getting a good shot of the four of them is practically impossible.
I took over a hundred photos. I love digital! Ainsley always has a few great personality shots.
I need an assistant who can do the staging while I take pictures—the kids always manage to move after I've told them how to pose, throwing in distracting hands, and wrinkling up their shirts.
Here are a few of the out-takes.
We always have more silly shots than anything else.
Robbie complained about being separated from his book, and Ainsley wanted "Froggy" in all of the photos.
But, if I had to pick just one POTD (pun intended), here it is. Can't you just see this in a wedding video?

That is a great shot of Ainsley. I tried to find a picture of all of my kids together a couple of weeks ago and couldn't come up with one. I guess I need to work on that, too.
